How does the protection system work?
It operates using a PWM Constant Voltage + Three-phase Dump Load Brake system:
- PWM constant voltage: Controls the wind turbine output to not exceed 120% of the wind turbine's rated power.
- Three-phase dump load: If capacity is exceeded (indicating over-speed), the system brakes the wind turbine automatically and immediately. The brake releases after 10-20 minutes to allow the wind turbine to restart power generation.
- Constant voltage output: During strong winds, it conducts constant voltage output to ensure safe inverter operation.
- Inverter Disconnection Safeguard: If the grid-tied inverter disconnects, the controller conducts constant voltage output and waits for inverter resumption.
- Grid Cut-off Protection: When the grid fails, the three-phase dump load automatically brakes the wind turbine and stops output to the grid. It automatically recovers when grid power is restored.
What automatic protection features are built into the GT-PCTC controller?
The controller is equipped with several automatic safety mechanisms, including Over Voltage Protection, Grid Cut-off Protection, Regulated Supply Output, and an Arrester to protect the system from electrical faults and surges.
What are the standard surge protection and emergency functions?
- Surge protector: Limits transient over-voltage entering the wind turbine's power line to a safe range, discharging powerful lightning currents into the ground to protect the equipment.
- Emergency stop switch: Allows users to press the front-panel emergency stop button to cut off all controller power, immediately engaging the three-phase dump load brake.
- Manual Brake switch: Keeps the wind turbine braked continuously via the three-phase dump load when activated.
What optional communication interfaces and protocols are supported?
- Modbus Communication protocol is available for secondary development.
- RS485 interface is available for adjusting technical specifications.
- Supports WIFI and LAN remote monitoring and control. Customers can monitor real-time working states and query history records via PC or mobile (compatible with both Android and iOS).
