Power Conversion Inverter (PCS)
The core equipment in an energy storage system, often referred to as the "brain" of the system. Its main function is to convert power between alternating current (AC) and direct current (DC), enabling the seamless control and dispatch of electrical energy.
Core Conversion Functions
AC/DC Conversion (Rectification)
Charging (AC → DC): When there is excess power from the grid (or AC power generated by a PV inverter), the PCS converts it into DC electricity to store safely in the battery bank.
DC/AC Conversion (Inversion)
Discharging (DC → AC): When grid demand peaks or backup power is required, the PCS converts the DC power stored in the batteries back into standard AC power to supply the grid or local loads.
